The Open Theatre Project
The Open Theatre Project is a theatre arts education program that operates under the umbrella of the Copper Village Museum and Arts Center in Anaconda. The mission of The Open Theatre Project is, to promote the ideas of tolerance, inclusion and understanding among young people through theatre arts. Those of us at OTP strive to meet the goals of our mission through producing live theatre with direct participation from local youth. Outreach Productions

The Open Theatre Project produced its first youth Outreach production in 2013. A production of Anne and The Tiger Raja, toured with a cast of young performers to local schools to perform for elementary school children. That initial production exemplified the type of TYA (Theatre For Young Audiences) production which inspired the creation of The Open Theatre Project. Performed by youth for youth, the show incorporated multicultural elements which promoted the very ideas of tolerance and inclusion which lie at the heart of the organization’s mission. Since that initial outreach production, OTP has brought a variety of multicultural themed productions, including many folk tales from around the world, to thousands of local and area elementary school students in Anaconda and the surrounding counties.
Volunteer

The Open Theatre Project is always seeking volunteer help with productions. We would welcome the help of volunteers in the areas of set construction and painting, costume construction and stage management. If you are interested in learning more about our upcoming season or volunteer opportunities call 406 563 2422.
How to Find Us

The Open Theatre Project utilizes the beautiful, if unfinished, space on the second story of the historic City Hall—home of the Copper Village Museum and Arts Center—for many productions. This space is currently the focus of Copper Village restoration efforts. When finished, the space which housed the Anaconda court room in years past will be transformed into a state-performing of the art community performing arts and events space which will be the home of the Open Theatre Project and available for use by the community.
